These are our current initiatives:

ACORNS!

ACORNS! is a year-round program. From Harvesting to Storing and Processing Acorns, we are engaged in a sustainable cycle of regenerative agriculture by attempting to restore the ecology of Alameda and surrounding areas through reforestation, re-wilding, and rehabilitation.

On top of that, we are using the acorn flour and acorn meal produced from the harvest to present a dynamic culinary series, and distribute to our diverse local indigenous communities.

Join us in re-opening Indigenous Foodways in the East Bay, and producing nutritious, culturally-relevant food at a scale which hasn’t been seen in over 300 years!

GIS LAB

The GIS Lab is a core component of the Alameda Native History Project, and its founder is an Opensource Geospatial Foundation Member. We are currently in the process of preparing to seek accreditation as a Geo For All Lab.

We are committed to fostering the free exchange of information, training our community members in open source software and, showing people how to use open data to both learn and advocate. Our goal has always been to enable tribes and indigenous people to collect, analyze, and store sovereign data using a myriad of tools and methods.

But it’s our immersive educational tools that we need the most support to develop. We are offering never-before-seen educational products that are both fun, and interactive.

Your support for the GIS Lab would help us develop educational tools that will engage learners in a relevant and memorable way.

Land Lab

CURRENT FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITY! (PRIZES OFFERED!)

The Indigenous Land Lab is the most important component of the Alameda Native History Project. It is a 30’x30′ plot of land in the East Bay we are blessed to be able to share.

The Indigenous Land Lab is an integral to our ability to support the rest of our projects with the actual materials we need. Having the land lab allows us to gather and process natural materials into the traditional tools and supplies we need to build Acorn Granaries, grow sacred medicine, and operate a restoration nursery will the express purpose of decolonizing the surrounding areas with Native Plants.

The natural materials available, open space, and potential as a restoration nursery are too much to pass up. Our belief in the feasibility of physical decolonization and healing medicine garden are why we are ask for your support. (Read more about our plans for the Indigenous Land Lab, here.)

How to Donate
