Restoring Indigenous Food Sovereignty. Reviving traditional acorn gathering in Alameda after 300+ years of disruption. Our approach honors Indigenous knowledge and stewarship of ancestral lands, fostering cultural heritage revitalization, reciprocal community relationships, and sustainable and regenerative agriculture.

Community-driven design competition: Build a sustainable granary using locally gathered natural materials to successfully store acorns over winter – a fun, hands-on challenge for all ages. - Annual Acorn Harvest
Reconnect with nature and discover Native American history and Indigenuity. Through our community-driven Annual Acorn Harvest, help reopen Indigenous foodways, and provide healthy, culturally relevant food for the local Indigenous community. - Acorn Processing Workshop
Transform the acorns we gathered and stored together into nutritious, culturally relevant, acorn flour and acorn meal, using traditional Indigenous techniques blended with modern innovation. The food we produce will be used in our Culinary Series, and distributed to local Indigenous Organizations and the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe of the San Francisco Bay Area. - ACORNS! Culinary Series

Open Source GIS Lab
Honoring Indigenous voices and perspectives, our lab develops interactive maps preserving Native American cultural heritage and environmental knowledge, including shellmound locations, Indigenous historical sites, and historical ecology visualizations. Also pioneering next-generation educational tools using Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) for immersive education experiences, centering community-based research and digital storytelling.
Investigative Journalism
Conducting in-depth research and reporting on Indigenous justice issues, promoting transparency and accountability in Native American representation, leadership, and cultural preservation.
